HollywoodEntertainmentjobs.com brings you the most updated jobs available in the entertainment industry of U.S .Planning a career in the film and TV industry has many different choices. It tends to always come down to Film School / Video Production School or experience in the film industry. If you are hoping to get involved in the creative aspect (producer, director, screenwriter, etc) going to film school, enrolling in an internship program at a film studio or landing a job as an assistant to a producer and/or director tends to be the three areas that are most approachable.

Typically speaking, a Film School or a Video Production School only “sharpens” your craft but if you are truly gifted and creative, enrolling for an internship program or getting hired as an assistant is always a great step to starting your career.

Quentin Tarantino began his Hollywood career working at a video store. Kevin Smith, (Clerks) sold his comic book collection to help fund his projects which eventually launched him into the film industry. In other words, innovation and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get your foot in the door is key.

HollywoodEntertainmentJobs.com is the Entertainment job super-site. We are the PREMIER job board for the entertainment market. We have the largest active Entertainment Jobsite in the United States and International markets! We publish jobs that range from internships, to assistant jobs to high level executive. We also list various Film Schools and Video Production Schools that are available throughout the United States.

HollywoodEntertainmentJobs.com lists many Internship programs ranging from Major Record Labels, TV Networks, Production Studio, Gaming Companies, if interning is the path you would like to take. Another choice an individual can make is to enroll into a film school / Video Production School and intern for a Film and/or TV studio as well.

One of the Film industries greatest iconic directors/producers is Steven Spielberg. Spielberg started out as a three-day-a-week unpaid intern for Universal. During the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, three of his films became the highest grossing films for their time: Jaws, E.T. and Jurassic Park. Because of his internship with his drive and determination, Spielberg was signed onto a long term director deal with Universal in 1968. This deal was a first for the film industry which made Spielberg the youngest director ever signed to a long term deal with a major Hollywood studio for that time. Being an intern was probably more important than attending film school for Spielberg.

There are traditional and legendary film schools and programs at Universities like UCLA or NYU but there are also newer schools that are making a splash like the Los Angeles Film School. The Los Angeles Film School is located on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood located in the historic RCA building. The Los Angeles Film School focuses on film and is the program for the student that is only interested in film. For those students that want to be in the heart of Hollywood and possibly intern at the same time for a Film/TV Studio, The Los Angeles Film School may be the right fit. The Los Angeles Film School Film Program is 48 weeks long and may be the fit for the student that doesn’t want to be in film school for more than a year.

Rick Rubin is the current Co-chairman of Columbia Records. Rick Rubin started Def Jam Records while he was a Senior year in High School and used the schools 4 Track Recorder to produce the first album. Upon graduating, he then moved his fledging label Def Jam into his dorm room at New York University. He then met Russell Simmons who was promoting concerts in NYC and the both of them took Def Jam out of the dorms and into a new level. They catapulted themselves on the music scene and embraced the fresh Rap scene that was happening in NYC.

Rick later went on to start American Recordings and did the same thing in rock with what he did with rap. He is also the creator behind the genres rap/rock or rapcore. He was the first to experiment with this when he fused Run DMC and Aerosmith together for the song, “Walk this Way”. Until that point, Rap was very seldom played on MTV and that all changed after that single hit. Rick Rubin has been the driven force behind many artists including Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Slayer, Danzig, Johnny Cash, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dixie Chicks, Audioslave, etc.

Who would’ve ever thought this legacy would happen from a jewish kid from Lido Beach, NY. Today Rick Rubin is the Co-chairman of one of the largest recording companies in the world.

With various Major Film/TV Studios like Sony, Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount, Fox, MTV, etc there is always demand within the various departments for committed, creative and passionate people.

A driven person by the name of Marc Cherry from Fullerton, California knew that he could make it in Television. After graduating from Cal Stat Fullerton, he decided to move to Hollywood, California to make his creative mark. With hopes of getting a writing job with one of the networks, he was met with disappointment because the 1998 Writers Strike just hit when he arrived to Hollywood which made it virtually impossible for him to acquire a writing job at the networks. Out of desperation, Marc Cherry took a position as an assistant for TV Actress by the name of Dixie Carter. Dixie Carter at the time was on a TV show called Designing Women.

He took this time to build his relationships and to wait out the writers strike. He then received his break and was offered a writing job for the Golden Girls. After several writing jobs for TV/Films, Marc Cherry wanted to make his mark.

In 2002, Marc Cherry developed a “TV Show” idea that he pitched to various networks. HBO, FOX, CBS, NBC, Showtime and Lifetime all turned it down. After changing his agent and giving it one more push, his dreams came true. ABC decided to pick up the show and production quickly began.. It was a phenomenon “hit” which put Marc Cherry into an executive position.

The show that everyone doubted would work is a show called, “Desperate Housewives”. Desperate Housewives not only worked but carved a new social trend in the TV market. From the humble beginnings as an assistant to now a TV Network Executive/Producer, Marc Cherry is a perfect story for those looking to build their careers in the TV/Film industry.
